Mark Anson, 47, was arrested for menacing in the second degree and criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree. According to New York State Police, he displayed a gun during an ‘incident,’ which was described as a vehicle and traffic complaint. Troopers said it began on Route 104 in Webster and continued onto Boston Road in the Town of Ontario. They did not elaborate further on what happened.

Anson was arrested and has since been released, according to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office website.

In a statement to district families, Superintendent Mary Grow said the district is aware of the incident involving Anson, the Assistant Superintendent for Instruction, adding “While we are not legally permitted to comment on the active investigation at this time, we want to assure you that we are taking this matter seriously and are closely monitoring the situation. Thank you for your patience and understanding.”
