ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — A Rochester mother is scheduled to be sentenced Friday morning after the death of her son.

Bryasia Love called the police in January 2023 , saying her one-year-old son was unresponsive. Officers arrived at a Joseph Avenue apartment and found her child A’Mias Love suffering from multiple skull fractures, lacerations to his head and liver, and damage to his eyes, among other injuries.

A’Mias was taken to the hospital but died days later.

Investigators said that A’Mias’s two-year-old sister had injuries as well to her face, ears, neck, thighs, arms, and back. She was treated for those injuries and placed in the custody of her grandmother.

Love was arrested after Child Protective Services said her home was “known” to them. She pleaded not guilty to murder , but in May 2024, she pleaded guilty to first-degree manslaughter and second-degree assault. She is expected to receive a 22 to 28-year prison sentence and five years of post-release supervision.

Love is scheduled to be sentenced Friday morning at 9:30 a.m. in Monroe County Court.
