RPD: Woman, 63, found dead inside apartment on Sixth Street

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — A 63-year-old woman was found dead inside an apartment on Sixth Street in Rochester Saturday afternoon.

News 8 arrived on the scene after 3 p.m. and observed at least a dozen patrol cars lining the surrounding streets. There was caution tape blocking the area where officers were investigating and an RPD Command Van was on scene.

According to police, Myrtle Watson died from “trauma to her upper body.” Investigators said they believe she died several hours before officers arrived adding that she lived alone there.

No suspects are in custody. The streets have since been reopened.
