ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — ESL Federal Credit Union has reimbursed customers after one of its employees allegedly stole money from accounts.

According to the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office, Aixa Resendiz, 21, worked at the ESL location on Recreation Drive in Hopewell. She was accused of stealing money from the accounts of multiple customers. The total amount stolen was $60,070.

Resendiz was arrested last Thursday and was charged with second-degree grand larceny. She was arraigned and released on her own recognizance.

Deputies said ESL is cooperating in the investigation and will reimburse all of the stolen funds.

Why is this Second Degree larceny? She obviously thought about this. She didn't steal $60,000 all at once. This was not an accident. She should not have been released.
