ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — A man was arrested after a house party in Rochester over the weekend, where police said they found him with a loaded handgun.

According to the Rochester Police Department, officers were called to a Frost Avenue home overnight Friday “to address nuisance related issues” at a house party. They were called back to the same location around 5:30 a.m. Saturday for reports of a fight.

Investigators said police working to break up the crowd discovered a man had a handgun. When they tried to take him into custody, he allegedly refused to take his hands out of his pockets and physically resisted arrest.

Vincent Brown, 37, was arrested and charged with criminal possession of a weapon and resisting arrest. Police said he was carrying a loaded .9mm handgun, which he was not allowed to have due to robbery convictions in 2006 and 2009.

Investigators said officers were surrounded by a group of hostile people who tried to interfere with the arrest. Two people were taken into custody in connection with those allegations.
