PITTSFORD, N.Y. (WROC) — The Penfield boys volleyball team continued their strong start to the season on Monday night by taking down Pittsford in straight sets.

The Patriots won both of the first two sets 25-17. The Panthers fought back in the third set, tying the game up at 18. But Penfield rolled off the final seven points to secure the victory.

Penfield has emerged as a strong early contender this season. They’ve already defeated Canandaigua and Victor/HFL this year and just won the prestigious Eden Can-Am tournament this past weekend. The event features some of the best teams in Western New York and Ontario. Penfield beat Fairport in the final in three sets.

Penfield (3-0) will host Fairport on Wednesday, September 18th. Pittsford travel to Victor High School to take on Victor/HFL on the same evening.
