Irondequoit’s Taiden Makubire is our Player of the Week

IRONDEQUOIT, N.Y. (WROC) — Senior quarterback Taiden Makubire is our Player of the Week after his dominant performance on Friday night.

Makubire orchestrated the Irondequoit offense to perfection as the Eagles put up a 50-burger, taking down Thomas 56-38.

Makubire threw for three touchdowns on just seven passing attempts. He finished with six completions on seven attempts for 157 yards. He also had three carries for 18 yards and another touchdown on the ground.

It’s the second dominant performance to open the season for Makubire and the Eagles. In Week 1, he threw two touchdowns and ran for another in his team’s 43-0 win against Eastridge.

Makubire is leading Section V’s highest-scoring offense after missing the end of last year with a season-ending injury. Irondequoit will try to move to 3-0 when they host Schroeder on Friday night.
