ROCHESTER, NY (WROC) – Did you catch the northern lights last night?

A brief severe G4 storm caused the northern lights to dance overhead before fading into the night. The storm has settled with no expectation of auroras tonight. Instead, we’ll enjoy a full supermoon and partial lunar eclipse. Because this is partial (and only barely at that), it isn’t much of a visual show. Cirrus clouds aloft will also limit the view at times as temperatures eventually settle into the upper 50s.

Our Wednesday will be similar with a mix of clouds and filtered sunshine with highs around the 80 degree mark. There isn’t much evidence of significant change to this forecast flavor for the remainder of the week and even into the weekend. Continued dry conditions will hold tight with daily highs ranging from the upper 70s to lower 80s. The next reasonable chance of rain will have to hold off until next week.
