ROCHESTER, NY (WROC) – Thicker clouds overhead could hold back temperatures a bit today, but it’s still a good one with highs in the middle and upper 70s. Any rain that falls will be in connection with the storm system to the south that brought soaking rains to North Carolina.

A second area of high pressure pushes into the Great Lakes from the north by Thursday, helping clear skies out to finish the week. Expect the sunshine to last for both Saturday and Sunday. There are some discrepancies on what happens as we go into early next week. The American model likes a dry solution throughout the week with a blocking surface high throughout the Northeast. The European model brings in a system that could mean rain by Tuesday from the west. I’m leaning toward the drier American model, since that’s where we’ve been the past week plus.
