Pokemon cards, My Little Pony, and more are finalists in Toy Hall of Fame

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — The 2024 finalists for the Strong Museum’s Toy Hall of Fame will be revealed Wednesday morning.

12 finalists will be revealed, but not all of them will be inducted. Usually, three of them go through, but last year’s was a special case. The Strong National Museum of Play released the following list:

• Apples to Apples
• Balloons
• Choose Your Own Adventure books
• Hess Toy Trucks
• My Little Pony
• Phase 10
• Pokemon Trading Card Game
• R/C Vehicles
• Sequence
• Stick Horse
• Trampoline
• Transformers

Three inductees — baseball cards, the Cabbage Patch Kids, and Nerf toys — made it through, but a fourth toy was inducted from the list of the Forgotten Five. That toy was the Fisher-Price Corn Popper.

The finalists that didn’t make the cut included the board game Battleship, Connect Four, Barbie’s friend Ken, and the Transformers.

The Strong National Museum of Play will announce this year’s finalists at 10 a.m. Wednesday morning.
