Theodice and Theophilus Parks were arrested after a police chase involving two stolen cars ended in a fatal crash at East Avenue and Elmwood Avenue on August 22. A third person, Trevan Simmons, 19, was also arrested.

The crash killed Thomas Chase, who was remembered as a classically trained pianist who regularly entertained residents at the Friendly Home.

Theodice Parks, 17, was indicted by a Monroe County grand jury on charges of second degree murder, aggravated vehicular homicide, second degree manslaughter, first degree assault, two counts of second degree assault, aggravated vehicular assault, first degree reckless endangerment, third degree criminal possession of stolen property, and driving while ability impaired by drugs.

Theodice Parks pleaded not guilty Friday and was taken to the Monroe County Jail without bail. There will be a six-day review to determine whether he will be tried as an adult or in family court. He’s scheduled to return to court on September 26.

Theophilus Parks, 19, was indicted on charges of first degree assault and third degree criminal possession of stolen property. He was previously out on bail, but was taken into custody Friday after bail was increased to $100,000 cash. He is also scheduled to return to court on September 26.

To their parents - I hope you are proud of the sons you raised!!! They obviously had a great upbringing! Personally, I think the parents or parent should go right to jail with them!!!!
