Security guard shot during fight at Monroe Avenue pub

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — A security guard was shot early Thursday morning at a pub on Monroe Avenue, according to the Rochester Police Department.

Police arrived at JD Oxfords and found the 37-year-old man with at least one gunshot wound. He was taken to a hospital and is expected to survive.

Investigators said a fight broke out inside the bar and, as security broke it up, the suspect fired at least one round and struck the victim. It’s unknown if he was the intended target or not. The suspect left the bar before RPD arrived.

Officers are working to find the suspect responsible for the shooting. Anyone with information is asked to call 911.
