ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — A Greece man will be serving over one year in prison for selling stolen items on eBay.

Tony Orlando Camacho was convicted of transportation of goods in stolen commerce. He was sentenced to serve 15 months in prison.

Between January 2021 and July 25, 2022, investigators said Camacho bought stolen products from boosters at a fraction of the retail cost. The products were usually new and in the box. Camacho would list the stolen items on eBay via his account Ton.Camac.

Camacho would advertise the stolen items on his page as “New” or “New-In-Box” and sell them below retail value.

An undercover investigator posed as a booster and sold what Camacho thought were new, stolen items. He then listed those items on his eBay account.

According to investigators, Camacho posted more than 2 thousand items for sale, generating a profit of over 469 thousand dollars over the course of the year. Some of the stolen items listed included items acquired via smash and grabs across the state, like new-in-box tools and equipment. Generators, welders and blenders stolen from Target, Harbor Freight and other equipment stores were also listed for sale on his account.
