    Police ID man fatally struck by train in East Rochester

    ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) – One man is dead after being struck by a train, East Rochester Fire Department confirmed Saturday.

    According to East Rochester Police, 23-year-old Noah Law was walking down the train tracks as he was heading home from work when Law tripped and fell onto the tracks. Despite efforts from the train crew the collision was unavoidable.

    East Rochester Fire responded around 2:45 p.m. for the report of a pedestrian struck and located Law who was deceased.

    According to Amtrack officials, train 63 was headed to Toronto, Canada from New York City when Law was on the track in East Rochester and was hit and killed. Officials added that none of the 135 people onboard were hurt.

    ERPD noted the dangers posed by walking or being near railroad tracks. Tracks while appearing quiet or inactive, can become dangerous within seconds. Walking, running or taking photos on or near the railroad tracks is not only dangerous but can also be considered trespassing on private property.
