Weather Forecast: Sun, clouds, and rain in Rochester

ROCHESTER, NY (WROC) – It’s a cold start for many with numbers in the lower 40s. A few pockets of 30s for areas south of Lake Ontario. You can expect a mix of sun and clouds today with the chance for showers coming in this afternoon.

Clouds will hold on for quite a bit going into Thursday as flow is still out of the north. It does lighten up a bit and we should clear out into the afternoon. High pressure over the eastern half of the country should give us a dry Friday. Some sort of cold front will swing through Friday night into Saturday, bringing a breezy weekend.

There will be a large storm system that brings rain Sunday. Expect showers to spin through from the west and last through most of the day. This will open the window for another round of cooler air and lake-effect rain showers through Columbus Day/Indigenous People’s Day and into early next week.
