ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) – A woman in her 80s, is being treated for serious but non-life-threatening injuries after Rochester police say she was attacked by two adult pit-bulls.

RPD responded to the 100 block of Sherwood Avenue near Arnett Boulevard for the report of a woman being attacked by a dog and found the woman seriously injured. She was transported by ambulance to Strong Memorial Hospital to be treated for her injuries.

Police say a man in his 20s was treated at the scene for minor injuries he sustained while trying to help the woman.

Animal control responded and took the two dogs into custody.

RPD says this does not appear to be a random attack as the woman lived at the location with the dogs.
