    RocKats holds Catober Fest in Rochester

    ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — RocKats hosted its second annual Catober Fest Friday. It’s a fundraiser for stray cats across Rochester.

    Local artists auctioned off their cat-themed artwork to raise money for the organization. Its motto, TNR, stands for Trap, Neuter, Release, all to help control the outdoor cat population.

    RocKats says there are about 10,000 strays i n the Rochester area..

    “These cats are born outside and it’s just a life of suffering,” you know and ” RocKats’ Gretchen Ettle said. “We try and get them to the vet once, and research shows that this is the best way to control the population.”

    The gallery will be up at Joy Gallery on Main Street until October 25.
