ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — While this was the kind of Saturday you usually can only hope for just as the leaves are starting to really change across the region. Hopefully you got outside and enjoyed the seasonable weather, and blue skies. Because as we head overnight, clouds fill in and on early Sunday morning, it starts to rain.

Sunday will be broadly speaking soggy. The heaviest rain will come likely while most of us are asleep before sunrise, but scattered showers, overcast skies, and generally damp conditions remain throughout the day. With a lack of sun and highs in the 50s there won’t be much drying out happening. It’s not to say you should cancel your outdoor plans, but have a realistic idea of how it’s going to be outside and how you should dress.

We don’t get rid of the rain into next week either. As cold air continues to stream over the lakes in the wake of Sundays storm system, lake effect and lake enhanced rain continues from Monday all the way through Wednesday. Temperatures hover in the low 50s and upper 40s through all three days as well with lows dropping into the 30s as well.

By Thursday high pressure slides over the northeast and we start to see skies dry out and clear out. Through next weekend highs make a slow rise from the mid-50s to the upper 60s by next Sunday.
