ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — The cool, overcast and rainy conditions remain with us as we’ve struggled to make it to the upper 40s today. We will stay mostly cloudy heading into the overnight hours, only allowing for temperatures to drop into the low to mid 40s.

We don’t quite get rid of the rain to start off of the workweek. Colder air will begin to rush in as a cold front moves south of WNY. Our wind direction changes to a northerly flow, which will start to spark up some lake-enhanced rain showers. Temperatures will stay on the cooler side, only reaching the low 50s for highs. Temperatures will fall into the upper 30s for lows near Rochester and will fall even lower in the higher elevations, which could lead to a frost for those areas.

Lake-enhanced rain showers linger into both Tuesday and Wednesday. However, unlike for today and Monday, these showers will remain more isolated and scattered rather than widespread. Temperatures for both days will only reach the upper 40s, maybe reaching the 50° mark. Our average high for this time of the year is right around 62°, so it looks like we will be below average for the next several days.

    8-Day Forecast

High pressure finally takes over starting on Thursday. Clouds will slowly start to clear out of the area with temperatures expected to reach the mid to upper 50s. We will stay dry heading into the end of the week with temperatures slowly starting to rise back up.

For now, our weekend looks to remain dry. Temperatures will continue their slow and gradual climb back up, even maybe becoming above average once again. We have to get through the wet and colder days before we get to enjoy the warm and sunnier days!
