One man dead after shooting on Bay Street

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) – One man is dead following a shooting on Bay Street near Sixth Street Tuesday afternoon.

According to RPD, officers responded to the area around 4:55 p.m. for the report of a person shot and found a 60-year-old man lying in a driveway with multiple gunshot wounds to the upper body.

Police say officers provided aid until AMR arrived to transport the man to URMC. The man later died at the hospital due to his injuries.

Investigators say the man was working on a vehicle in the driveway of his home when the suspect shot him multiple times.

Rochester police have blocked off a portion of Bay Street near Sixth Street as the investigation continues. RPD’s Major Crimes Section will lead the investigation.

There are no suspects in custody at this time. Anyone with information is asked to call 911.
