ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) – The Cheshire Fire Department has announced the delivery of a new fire rescue boat following a project that spanned over the last several years.

The new boat is the first of its kind on Canandaigua Lake, marking a big milestone in enhancing public safety on the water.

The new fire boat is equipped with modern technology for safe navigation, a 1250 gallon per minute fire pump and Honda 225 outboard engines.

The Cheshire Volunteer Fire Department is responsible for protecting 13 miles of Canandaigua Lake from the city line down into South Bristol, representing the largest water district on the lake.
