ROCHESTER, NY (WROC) – Mostly clear skies last through this afternoon as pressure increases across New York State and the northeast. Temperatures fall out of the 50s into the 40s and 30s going into early Friday. Don’t forget to catch a glimpse of the Atlas Comet this evening.

We put the plane into cruise control Thursday, Friday, and beyond. At the surface, deep high pressure from Mississippi to Maine ensures clear skies. Overhead, the upper level jet finds itself in Canada and we are under a broad ridge that prevents from any storm activity.

    8-Day Forecast

While mornings will be chilly going into the weekend, afternoon high temperatures will go on a day-to-day warming with both Saturday and Sunday getting well into the 60s. This pattern should likely hold into early next week with highs in the lower 70s. We do a chance for showers Wednesday, but it doesn’t look like much.
