    SU storms past Clarion in first exhibition game

    SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — The Syracuse men’s basketball team soared past Clarion in its first exhibition game, defeating the Golden Eagles 101-73.

    Four Syracuse players scored in double figures. Chris Bell and JJ Starling combined for 33 points in the win.

    Jaquan Carlos stuffed the stat sheet, adding 14 points, 10 assists and 3 steals.

    Freshman Donnie Freeman chipped in 16 points and 7 rebounds.

    As a team SU made 12 threes, shooting 53% from the field.

    Syracuse will host Slippery Rock University in its final exhibition game on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
