ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — The Rochester Police Department took to social media Monday morning to ask for the public’s help in identifying someone who, according to officers, stole a car during a funeral.

The theft was caught on surveillance camera footage outside of the St. Stanislaus Church back on Oct. 25. Monday, RPD posted the video online in hopes of identifying the thief.

Anyone with information that may aid investigating officers are being asked to call 911, 311, Crime Stoppers at 585-423-9300 or email RPDTipLine@CityofRochester.gov. The full video can be watched at the top of this page.

It is truly unfortunate. Attending a funeral should be a time for peace and respect, yet having your car stolen during such a solemn occasion is simply incomprehensible.
