Green commercial space looking to rent

KIRKWOOD, N.Y. (WIVT/WBGH) – A large industrial building in Kirkwood has transitioned over to solar power and is now looking for renters.

The solar powered manufacturing building located at 63 Barlow Road has 16,500 square feet available to rent.

The owner of the building, Tom Milligan says the electrical bill was getting overwhelming, so he decided to switch to solar.

Over the Summer, local contractor, “My Solar Grid” installed 412 solar panels in a field directly outside of the building.

Milligan says there is 11,000 square feet of the light manufacturing area, and the other 5,000 square feet is office space.

“The space that’s up here is designed for people who are concerned, need office space, need light manufacturing space, but are concerned about green values,” said Milligan.

The space is currently listed at a rate of $7 to $9 per square foot.

The listing says the building offers plenty of parking, including level two EV charging stations coming soon.

Milligan says because of the solar power, there is no charge for electric fees.
