(WIIVT/WBGH) – Alyssa Crosby’s journey on The Voice has officially come to an end.

On Monday, the Hillcrest resident competed against teammate Rletto in the Knockout Round, performing Elton John’s “I Guess That’s Why They Call it the Blues.”

She was commended by the judges for her outstanding performance but was ultimately sent home.

Crosby has made quite the name for herself since first appearing on the show, receiving an outpouring of support from the community.

Crosby’s passion for music began as a young girl when her parents owned a karaoke business. As a kid, she remembers singing in dive bars until it was too late for her to be there.

Although her time on the show has ended, Crosby says she looks forward to the future.

“I’m very proud of myself. In my heart I feel like this is just a springboard for me. There’s more that’s going to come and I’m ready to just use this momentum to the best of my ability and just really take what I can get out of it and run with it. This is just the beginning, this is not the end,” said Crosby.

If you missed Crosby’s performances on The Voice, there are plenty more opportunities to watch her sing.

Crosby performs across Broome County with her bands Wildcard and Grown Ups. She does solo performances as well.

You can catch her at the Elks in Kirkwood on April 26 and at Beer Tree Farm on May 11.
