Visions’ 3rd Bands & Brews Summer concert series

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. (WIVT/WBGH) — Keep your Friday night schedules flexible, as a monthly, summer concert series is coming to the arena with a music genre for everyone.

Visions Federal Credit Union is hosting its 3rd Bands and Brews Block Party on three different Fridays throughout the summer. The free concerts will take place at 5 p.m. just outside the Visions Veterans Memorial Arena in Downtown Binghamton.

The first concert is is on Friday, June 14 and is an 80’s theme, featuring White Wedding, a cover band from Queens, New York. Country night on Friday, July 19 is bringing back the group, Country Swagg. And the series ends on August 9, which is a 90’s pop-rock theme featuring the band Off the Wall.

The director of PR at Visions, Tim Strong, says since sponsoring the arena 3 years ago, events in downtown are getting more and more traction.

“We don’t want to just be a name on a building. We want to be here working hand-in-hand with the Arena, with the leadership here, to make sure this is a building where things are happening, where people want to come, and also, bringing in the business, the tourism business to downtown Binghamton. To the restaurants and businesses down here,” Strong said.

At each concert, Beer Tree Brew will be on site with other food and drink options as well. Strong says there is no better way to start your weekend than with a free concert.
