ENDICOTT, N.Y. (WIVT/WBGH) – A non-profit in Endicott received a $1,000 donation to bolster its services and impact on local youth.

Auchinachie Cares is the charitable arm of Auchinachie Services, and every month, the charity donates to a local non-profit.

This month, Auchinachie Cares donated $1,000 to Central Serves, a community outreach program of the Central United Methodist Church of Endicott.

Central Serves offers a weekly hot meal, a free clothing center, bike ministry, and more.

The associate pastor, Paul Reed, says the donation will go towards purchasing hygiene products and fixing up bicycles to give to local kids.

“So, the ability for us to show kids that people care. That the world is not an awful place, that the world is good and that there are good people there. Any way we can support kids, definitely gives them a step up, and the ability to say they’re worth it, and to go with that aspect in life,” said Reed.

The church’s clothing closet is by appointment only, on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. You can make an appointment by calling (607)754-6060. Any donations can be dropped off in the back of the church.

If you’re a local non-profit looking to apply, and receive a donation from the Auchinachie Cares program, you can send an email to Auchinachie Cares, or message them on Facebook.
