Van carrying 9 children involved in collision in Otsego County

OTSEGO COUNTY, N.Y. (WIVT/WBGH) – A van carrying nine children was involved in a two-vehicle crash in Otsego on Thursday.

At around 3:14 p.m., New York State Police at Sidney responded to the accident on State Highway 28.

A preliminary investigation revealed that a van operated by Jackson Diliberto, 21, of Richfield Springs was traveling south on State Highway 28 when he crossed the center double yellow lines and struck a Nissan SUV that was traveling northbound.

The Nissan went off the road, overturned, and landed on its roof.

The driver of the Nissan, Amy R. Valentine, 65, of West Winfield was transported to Bassett Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

Three children from the van, 9-year-old male, 9-year-old female and 7-year-old female went to Bassett Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

The van contained 11 passengers total.
