    Dispute leads to shots fired in Binghamton

    BINGHAMTON, N.Y. (WIVT/WBGH) – A woman was arrested on Sunday after firing a gun at an occupied residence during a dispute.

    At approximately 3 p.m., the Binghamton Police Department responded to the area of 7 Catherine Street in the City of Binghamton for a reported dispute in the roadway as well as shots fired.

    Responding officers were informed that a dispute had taken place between two female that knew one another. It was also determined that altercation resulted in one of the females removing a handgun from her bag and firing two rounds at an occupied two-family home.

    No one was injured as a result of the shooting.

    During an investigation, officers spoke with witnesses and began canvassing the area for evidence. They found two spent 9mm casings in the roadway. Investigators were requested to the scene to assist. As a result of the investigation, it was determined that the suspect had fled the scene in a vehicle prior to Police arrival.

    The suspect was identified as Armory Murphy, 18, of Endicott. She was later located at a residence in Endicott and was taken into custody.

    Murphy was charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree, a Class C felony and two counts of Reckless Endangerment in the First degree, Class D felonies.

    Murphy was arraigned on Monday in Binghamton City Court. She was remanded to the Broome County Jail.

    The investigation is ongoing. The Binghamton Police Department is asking anyone with information to please contact the Binghamton Police Detective Bureau at (607)772-7080.
