Gospel legend Bill Gaither performing in Johnson City

JOHNSON CITY, N.Y. (WIVT/WBGH) – A world renowned gospel legend is making a stop in Johnson City as he continues his successful tour.

Multi-Grammy Award winning recording artist Bill Gaither is coming to the First Baptist Church on September 13 for his Moments to Remember Tour. He will be joined by his award-winning group The Gaither Vocal Band.

Gaither, who turned 88 in March, made nearly two dozen concert appearances throughout the U.S. during the Spring.

Known as a performer, songwriter and mentor for newly discovered artists, Gaither and his wife Gloria have become the most successful Gospel songwriting team in history. The duo has penned more than 900 songs and were recognized as the ASCAP Christian Songwriters of the Century.

Joining Gaither and the Gaither Vocal Band, which features Wes Hampton, Adam Crabb, Todd Suttles and Reggie Smith, will be performers Ladye Love Smith, Gene McDonald, and Chris Blue. Gaither’s musical entourage, consisting of Kevin Williams, Matthew Holt and Michael Rowsey, will be in attendance as well.

The performance will take place at 7 p.m.
