Broome County hosting evening meal, cooking class for caregivers

BROOME COUNTY, N.Y. (WIVT/WBGH) – The Broome County Office for Aging is making sure caregivers are cared for as well as it hosts an evening meal and cooking event.

On September 10, the Office for Aging is inviting caregivers to join it at the Northern Broome Senior Center for an evening meal with their loved one or on their own.

Dinner will be served at 4:30 p.m. and a special presentation will be held at 5:15. Kathleen Cook, a Nutrition Educator from Cornell Cooperative Extension, will be sharing tips on keeping nutritious food on hand when you’re feeling overwhelmed and exhausted.

During the presentation there will be care services available with Leisure Time Activity Aides who will be offering structed activities in a nearby room.

Reservations for the event are required. To reserve your spot and meal, call the Office for Aging at (607)778-2411.

The Northern Broome Senior Center is located at 12 Strongs Place in Whitney Point.
