Masonville man charged with murdering pregnant wife, stabbing his kids

UPDATE (2:10 PM): NYSP has announced the arrest of 32-year-old Drew Garnier of Masonville on charges accusing him of stabbing his wife and kids, with his wife succumbing to injuries at the hospital later on.

Garnier has been charged with class A-I felony murder in the second degree for stabbing and killing his wife Samantha Garnier, 29, and two counts of attempted murder in the second degree for stabbing his children.

According to police, Samantha was airlifted to Wilson Medical Center where she was later pronounced dead. One child was to Wilson Medical Center and transferred to Upstate Medical Center. The second child was airlifted to Upstate Medical Center. Police say both children are expected to survive.

Garnier was arrested at the scene and taken to A.O Fox Hospital, then released and processed at Sidney State Police. He is currently in Delaware Jail on no bail.

MASONVILLE, NY (WIVT/WBGH) — There is a police presence blocking off the dead-end street of Houck Road in Masonville.

A viewer close to the situation tells News 34 that police are potentially investigating the murder of a pregnant woman.
