    Broome County highway work continuing next week

    BROOME COUNTY, N.Y. (WIVT/WBGH) – The Broome County Department of Public Works is making the public aware of upcoming road work.

    The following road work has been scheduled for the week beginning September 9:

    • Paving on Owen Hill Road (between New York State Route 79 and Village of Lisle line)
    • Culvert pipe work on Nowlan Road, Beartown Road & Oquaga Lake Road
    • Cross road culvert replacement on Knapp Road (between Airport Road and Flint Road)
    • Ditch cleaning and shoulder rebuilding on East Maine Road, Old Route 17, Nowlan Road
      and Oquaga Lake Road
    • Manhole repairs on Oakdale Road
    • Surface treatment on Knapp Hill Road (between New York State Route 12 and New York State Route 11)
    • Striping to county and town roadways
    • Mowing roadside on several county road

    Drivers are reminded to be cautious in work zones even if they are not as active as some routes.
