BINGHAMTON, NY (WIVT/WBGH) — The Broome County District Attorney’s Office announced the sentencing of a Johnson City who admitted to possessing illegal substances with the intent to sell.

In April 2023, a search of 58 Massachusetts Ave in Johnson City, the residence of 32-year-old Evan Middleton, led to police finding 10 ounces of fentanyl as well as four pounds of methamphetamine.

Middleton admitted to possessing the drugs and intending to sell them later on. As a result, Middleton was handed 12 years in prison and three years probation upon release for criminal possession of a controlled substance in Broome County Court on September 6, 2024.

District Attorney Battisti called the 12-year sentence “a stern warning” to anyone involved in drug trafficking.
