Shooting on Walnut St leads to the arrest of 2

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. (WIVT/WBGH) – Two people from North Carolina are accused of firing a weapon inside a Binghamton park.

Binghamton Police responded to a report of shots fired last Friday at about 10:15 p.m.

Police arrested 33-year-old Francisco Sanchez of Star, North Carolina and 27-year-old Hailey Allred of Sea Grove, North Carolina.

Sanchez allegedly had a loaded .45 caliber handgun on him and officers say they found three .45 caliber shell casings in the park.

Police believe Allred fired the gun while Sanchez watched. Officers don’t believe there was a specific target.

Both face a variety of weapons and tampering charges.
