‘The Sound Inside’ at KNOW Theatre

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. (WIVT/WBGH) – A two-person play that explores trust, loneliness, and human connection is coming to KNOW Theatre.

The Sound Inside by Adam Rapp is opening this weekend. The story follows isolated Yale University Professor Bella Lee Baird as she begins to mentor a mysterious yet brilliant student, Christopher. The two form a connection and as the story unfolds, audience members will remain on the edge of their seats.

Heidi Weeks, in her first appearance at KNOW Theatre, stars as Bella. She calls the play “verbal choreography” for its beauty and literary aspects.

Weeks says she has always admired Artistic Director Tim Gleason’s choice of plays. She says KNOW Theater creates an intensity that any theatergoer will enjoy.

“It’s just an energy you can work off of. The black box effect creates this inescapable experience for an audience. You can’t leave, you have to deal with it,” said Weeks.

Starring alongside Weeks is Jacob Donlin.

The Sound Inside opens Friday and will run for three weeks, ending on September 29.

Show times are at 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 3 on Sundays.

Tickets are $15.

There will also be a pay-what-you-can performance on Thursday September 19th.
