WHITNEY POINT, N.Y. (WIVT/WBGH) – The Whitney Point football team was looking to bounce back, following a big loss last week to Deposit-Hancock. They would take on Oneonta, who was also defeated a week ago.

Late first quarter, the Eagles looking to put a drive together, but it’ll be stopped by a one-handed pick from Cam Colton, who would take possession back for the Jackets.
A few drives later and another defensive play. A bobbled snap on 4th down by Ethan Johnson gives Oneonta the ball back, that’s a turnover on down.
Then the scoring would start. Designed quarterback keeper and Connor Hayes scrambles in untouched for 6. The extra point would be no good.
The Jackets would answer right back. Wide receiver screen to James Erickson and he bulldozes his way into the endzone. They would then convert the 2-point conversion. At the end of the first half, Whitney Point would kick a field goal to go up 9-8 and that would seal the deal.

    Eagles win 9-8 in a low-scoring thriller.
