Owego Cross Country hosting first ever night invitational

OWEGO, N.Y. (WIVT/WBGH) – The Owego Free Academy Cross Country program is giving a new meaning to the term Friday night lights as it hosts its first ever nighttime invitational.

OFA is hosting the first ever Owego Night Invite on Friday. During the one-of-a-kind event, runners will race in the dark on the main campus at Owego Free Academy. There will be lights, music, and more.

The meet will feature 33 schools and over 900 runners ranging from modified to varsity.

Race times are as follows:

• 6:00 – Modified Boys: Large School
• 6:20 – Modified Boys: Small School
• 6:40 – Modified Girls: Large School
• 7:00 – Modified Girls: Small School
• 7:30 – JV Boys
• 8:15 – Varsity Girls
• 9:00 – Varsity Boys

A free kids 1k race will be held before the above races at 5:50.

The starting line for all races is located behind Owego Apalachin Middle School and all races will finish at the 50-yard line inside Christy J. Valvo stadium.
