Vestal wins a close one against the River Hawks

VESTAL, N.Y. (WIVT/WBGH) – The Vestal Golden Bears have slowly been chipping away, trying to make it back to where they were last season. Their most recent opponent? The Owego River Hawks.

OFA would fire first. Lexi Cheeseman, on the stroke, fired it past the goalie, giving the girls in grey the lead.
Vestal would answer right back. A fight for possession in front of the net and it lands on Helene Ryan’s stick, who ties it up.
Golden Bears would continue to attack. Balls slapped in, takes a deflection and Lillie Kneller makes the kick save on the backhand.

Vestal would find another and despite a late push from the River Hawks, the Golden Bears win, 2-1.
