BINGHAMTON, N.Y. (WIVT/WBGH) – A Johnson City man is expected to spend five years in prison for possessing and intending to sell drugs.

District Attorney Paul Battisti announced that Giovanni Foster, 30, pleaded guilty to Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree on September 12 in Broome County Court. Foster admitted to possession with the intent to sell

On July 11, the Broome County Special Investigations Unit executed a narcotics search
warrant at 109 Floral Avenue Apartment 3 in Johnson City. During the search, investigators located nearly four ounces of methamphetamine, approximately two ounces cocaine, an ounce of fentanyl, and a digital scale.

Foster will receive five years in New York State Prison followed by three years post-release
    supervision.

Foster is scheduled for sentencing on December 12.

“Our office is committed to prosecuting individuals who exploit those suffering from the devastation of substance use disorder in our community. The 5-year prison sentence imposed
serves as a stern warning to others that we will hold those that peddle poison in our community fully accountable for their actions,” said Battisti.
