BROOME COUNTY, N.Y. (WIVT/WBGH) – The Broome County Department of Public Works is looking to the public for input on an upcoming project in the Town of Sanford.

Broome County, in collaboration with Barton & Loguidice, is seeking public opinion on the Old Route 17 Culvert Replacement Project over Fly Creek, scheduled for 2025 in Sanford. It will take approximately four months to complete.

The new structure is said to improve hydraulic performance, enhance safety, and support full truck traffic.

The project is currently in preliminary design and the final design for this project has not yet begun. Broome County is requesting that local residents and individuals who frequently use Old Route 17 provide their input and ask questions about the proposed project. All comments are to be submitted by September 27. Comments can be sent to BroomeCountyOldRoute17@bartonandloguidice.com.
