Marathon man arrested following domestic dispute

MARATHON, N.Y. (WIVT/WBGH) – A Marathon man is facing felony charges after allegedly engaging in a violent domestic dispute.

On Sunday, New York State Police at Homer were dispatched by the Cortland County 911 Center to a report of a domestic dispute on State Route 221 in Marathon.

An investigation determined that Dillin Wilcox, 32, allegedly engaged in an argument with a victim that turned physical. According to police, Wilcox chocked the victim and threatened to harm the victim while displaying a knife.

The victim was able to leave the residence before troopers arrived, but Wilcox allegedly refused to leave the property for about an hour. He ultimately left the residence and was arrested.

Wilcox was charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Third Degree, a Class D Felony; Menacing in the First Degree, a Class E Felony; and Criminal Obstruction of Breathing, a misdemeanor.

Wilcox was remanded to the Cortland County Jail.

The victim was checked out by EMT’s on scene but was not transported to a hospital.
