CV tops Waverly in the battle of the unbeaten

CHENANGO VALLEY, N.Y. (WIVT/WBGH) – It was the game of the night. Chenango Valley and Waverly. Both teams sitting pretty in STAC play, undefeated, and now going head to head looking to take that top spot for themself.

Valley on the attack first. The ball would be played to the foot of Emily Nickson who rips one on target, but it’s a big diving save by Claire Clonch to keep it scoreless.
Then it would be Waverly. Kait Sutton spins the defender, finds space, and slots one in over the keeper, giving the Wolverines the lead.
The Warriors would answer right back. Madelyn Hayes gets free and tucks it far post, tying the game.

And well, it’s Hayes’s world that we’re just living in. CV scores 6 unanswered, 5 from her foot alone, and wins it, 6-1.
