    Rosemary F. Downing, age 88, of Russellville, Ohio passed away Wednesday, August 28, 2024 at the Villa Georgetown Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born November 10, 1935 in Siberia, IN, daughter of the late Edward M. and Olivia K. (Meyer) Oser. She was a homemaker and a member of the St. George Catholic Church. She loved to crochet, do jigsaw puzzles and to read. Rosemany and Gene were involved with the Ohio Valley Antique Machinery Show. She loved spending all the time she could with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

    In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Gene Downing; son, Tim Downing; siblings, Henrietta Bartell, Margaret Martin, Alfred “Jim” Oser, Robert Oser, Edward Oser Jr., Delores Carnahan, Walter Oser, Rita Buechlein, George Oser, Louise Oser and several brothers and sisters-in-law.

    Rosemary is survived by 2 sons; Mike Downing of Russellville, Greg Downing of Russellville, 3 daughters; Cheryl (Garrell) Florence of Georgetown, Christy (Joe Bachman) Downing of Batavia, Janet (Jeff) Jones of Georgetown; 9 grandchildren, Brandon (Jodi) Downing, Sarah (William) Tindall, Jerrod (Nicole) Florence, Jennifer (Bryan) Holtz, Kerry (Dawn) Burns, Lauren (Ricky) Simpson, Blake (Brooke) Jones, Cory Jones, Erin (James) Matchett; 22 great grandchildren; 1 brother, Leroy (Marlene) Oser; 1 sister, Virginia Hubert; brother-in-law, Jerry Downing and several nieces and nephews.

    A Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, September 3, 2024 at 10:00 AM at the St. Mary Catholic Church in Arnheim with Fr. Frank Amberger officiating. Burial will follow in the Linwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held Monday, September 2, 2024, from 6:00 - 8:00 PM with Prayer Service beginning at 8:00 PM at the Meeker Funeral Home in Russellville.

    Memorials may be made to the St. Mary Catholic Church, Hospice of Hope Ohio Valley or Alzheimer’s Association.
