    Medicare open enrollment is coming. An update session is set for Magruder Conference Center

    Various events are planned at Magruder Hospital in Port Clinton over the next month including a Medicare update educational program at noon Oct. 21. There is limited seating available and a reservation is required to 419-732-4061 or rfall@magruderhospital.com .

    The Ohio Senior Health Insurance Information Program will present a Medicare update for 2025. covering Parts A and B, supplemental insurances and Part D as well as Medicare Advantage plans.

    Trained helpers will be available to run comparisons; participants should be sure to bring Medicare cards, a list of medications (including dosage and frequency) as well as Medicare.gov information if you have signed up on that site.

    For those who would like to fill out the comparison form ahead of time, reach out to OSHIIP volunteer Rachel Fall at the number or email above.

    If you are not able to make it to the Oct. 21 event, you can get help during open enrollment by calling OSHIIP at 1-800-686-1578, or contacting Fall at rfall@magruderhospital.com or 419-732-4061.

    Magruder selling tickets for breast cancer awareness quilt

    Magruder Hospital is selling raffle tickets to win a hand-made breast cancer awareness quilt that is 39 inches by 50 inches. Tickets are $1 each or six for $5 and can be purchased in the Imaging Department, Oncology Department or in the Auxiliary Gift Shop from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Mondays to Thursdays and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Fridays. The drawing is Nov. 1. Tickets can be purchased with cash or a check to the Magruder Foundation.

    Magruder Hospital to host blood drive

    The American Red Cross will have blood drives in the Magruder Hospital Conference Center Nov. 1 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Appointments are required and can be made by calling 1-800-RED-CROSS or visiting www.redcrossblood.org . Nearby blood drives can always be found by going to redcrossblood.org and entering your ZIP code.
