Self-defense possible reason in fatal Henderson shopping center shooting

Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) – Henderson Police say that the fatal shooting of one man by another in a shopping center parking lot may be a case of self-defense.

The shooting happened in the parking lot of the Walmart on Sunset just east of U.S. 95 around 1:30 Wednesday afternoon.

In a release sent out by HPD, detectives determined a 38-year-old man approached a vehicle with a gun in his hand in a confrontational manner. A second male in that vehicle fired his weapon at the 38-year-old, striking him.

After being shot, the 38-year-old man who had been shot fired multiple rounds as the confronted subject drove off.

The man who was shot died at the scene

The man who initially discharged his firearm remained on scene and is cooperative with the investigation.

Neither the names of the shooter nor the deceased have been released as the investigation continues.
