Clark County extending 'cooling station' hours as excessive heat lingers
The Las Vegas area is under an excessive heat warning through Saturday night, and in response, Clark County has extended the hours of operation for nearly two-dozen so-called ‘cooling stations’ where people can go to escape the heat.

Man found shot dead in car after crash on I-15
Police were responding to a single-vehicle crash on 15N near Charleston just after midnight Sunday and found an unconscious driver suffering from a gunshot wound. Medical personnel were called out but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Metro arrests man in fatal east-side stabbing
Police have arrested a suspect in the death of a man on the Valley’s east side last week back on May 25th. On Friday, Las Vegas Metro Police announced the arrest of 46-year-old Elvis Ruvalcaba. Details surrounding the arrest haven’t been made public.
Passenger traffic at Reid Airport up slightly in April
Nearly 5-million passengers went through Reid International Airport in April, according to figures released Thursday by the Clark County Department of Aviation. The 4.88M passenger count marked a 1.5% jump over April of 2023.
Arrest made in shooting at Henderson park
Henderson Police announced Robert Berry’s arrest on Wednesday. They say Berry was part of a group that got into a dispute with another group at Mission Hills Park on the night of May 21st, which eventually led to shots being fired.

Planned power outage along I-15 to disable service south of Primm
Between 10pm Wednesday and 10am Thursday, all power will be shut down along I-15 from the Nevada-California state line to south of Baker. The power is being turned off for what are called “reliability upgrades”.
