Winning 100,000 Dollar Powerball Ticket Sold in Westlake

WESTLAKE, OH - According to a press release issued by the Ohio Lottery on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, a Giant Eagle store in Westlake has made one lucky customer significantly wealthier.

The store, located at 30275 Detroit Rd, sold a winning $100,000 ticket for the August 5, 2024, Powerball drawing.

The fortunate ticket holder's auto-pick ticket matched four of the five white balls plus the red Powerball number, securing an initial prize of $50,000.

According to the press release, however, by opting for the Powerplay feature, which was set at 2X for this drawing, the prize was doubled to an impressive $100,000.

The winning numbers for the draw were 29, 42, 44, 51, and 54, with the Powerball number being 12.

The Ohio Lottery Commission reminds the winner to claim their prize within 180 days of the draw date to avoid forfeiture of the winnings, according to the press release.

The Giant Eagle location that sold the ticket is sure to see increased traffic from hopeful lottery players inspired by this significant win.
