    AKRON, OH - According to a press release issued by the Ohio Lottery on Thursday, August 15, 2024, a local Ohio Lottery player is celebrating a windfall after winning $10,000 on the "Billion" scratch-off ticket.

    The winning ticket was purchased at Short Stop, located at 1690 Massillon Road in Akron.

    According to the press release, after mandatory federal and state tax withholdings, the winner will take home approximately $7,200.

    While the identity of the lucky player has not been disclosed, their significant win is sure to bring excitement to the local community.

    The "Billion" scratch-off is a $50 game with a top prize of $1 million per year for 20 years. As of August 15, three of these top prizes remain up for grabs, offering hope to many other hopeful players.

    The Ohio Lottery, which has been contributing to education in the state since 1974, has allocated more than $32 billion to educational programs, according to the press release.
